Double K’s Perspective: The NL Wild Card Race…


                                                                                             Hello class in today’s perspective we are talking about the team that is currently being chased by 2 other teams for the 2nd Wild Card spot. That team is the St.Louis Cardinals the defending World Series champs. They lost Pujols in the offseason and thanks to the grace of MLB governing committee they have an opportunity to defend that title if they can get into the Play in game and beat the Braves in a one game playoff. But let’s get back to the team and the season they have had…

2) WC2 – St.Louis Cardinals (85-72, 6GB for WC1, 47hmwins, 38rdwins): The St.Louis Cardinals have been hot by necessity theses last 10 games trying to hold onto their invitation to the 1st annual Wild Card play in game. But this is exactly what they did last year and they won the NL title and eventually the World Series title. For this team to battle back after losing Albert Pujols to the Angels they managed to find viable replacements and find themselves in position to possibly get back to the Series to defend the title. And unless the Angels catch Oakland Pujols will be sitting at home this postseason. So wow who ever thought that would be the case. But here we are with the Cardinals a viable threat to Atlanta and look to achive their goals of doing what Texas has done the past 2 years and go back to the World Series. The journey begins with this one step…
