So Athletics P Bartolo Colon is suspended 50 games for the use of testosterone…

Welcome back class today we have a repeating subject for the 1st time. This subject is another all star caliber player who was resurrecting his career with a Bay Area team is suspended for 50 games for use of testosterone. This time though it was a pitcher not a hitter that caught and disciplined by the league. The name of that pitcher is Oakland Athletics pitcher Bartolo Colon…

The Oakland A’s found Bartolo this offseason struggling to find a team to pick him up.  But he was ready to go when they called on him and ready to anchor a very young pitching staff. And he did one heck of a job leading by example. Up till this point in the season he was a bright spot in a very bright staff. A sub 3.5 ERA and 10 wins to lead the team this season Bartolo was being the model veteran leader that the A’s wanted. He was showing the young guys how to be pro’s on and off the field. He was also well liked in the clubhouse by the entire team. AS shown by the fact that after the suspension. The overriding sentiment was that Colon will be missed in the clubhouse. So it bring to question is this the reason the 39 year old pitcher was so dominant after being gone from the game so long? Who knows only he can answer that but I will tell you this. I truly don’t understand why something or even how something that is naturally produced in male bodies is considered a drug or a PED. But that’s not my decision that belongs to MLB and they say that it is considered cheating so Melky and Bartolo will sit out the rest of the baseball season and hopefully both teams will be in the postseason and both men will be able to join their team for a postseason run. But as for now the Athletics will be alright after seeing their former ace Brett Anderson pitch so well in his 1st start back from Tommy John Surgery. The will still compete..But it is still a hit to the top pitching staff in baseball in 2012…

So the lesson learned here kids  Is that “cheaters” will be caught. And they will serve their time and make their way back to baseball. Maybe not Bartolo being almost 40 and all. Baseball is playing hardball when it comes to PED’s so the players better fall in line or they will be serving 50 game suspensions left and right. Do it right the 1st time and you will play free of harm. Remember that kids and all will be fine! Till later…Class is Dismissed…
