Preseason Week 3: Oakland Raiders (0-2) vs Detroit Lions (1-1)…

Welcome students to the Double K Preseason Week 3 Oakland Raiders Game review. This was a pretty exciting game with the Raiders took control early with a 10-6 half time lead. But after the half it was a pure shootout reminiscent of the Lions vs Raiders game last season in Oakland. But as usual students we are going to break it down into 5 categories…

Score: Raiders 31, Lions 20...

Offense: A- (Passing Yards: 318 yrds, Rushing Yards: 195yrds): I give the offense such a high mark because they performed and kinda broke out of the box and exposed the Lions 1st and 2nd team defenses. And finally anytime that you amass 500+ yards of offense you deserve at least an A for effort…

Quarterbacks: A- (C.Palmer 17/26 181yrds, T.Pryor 3/5 137yrds 2TD’s): The Quarterbacks were actually an impressive unit out there. Eventhough Carson didn’t throw a single TD he looks like he is starting to get the offense. Tarrell Pryor had a monster game with another 90 yard performance on the ground against the B team defense…

Running backs: B+ (T.Jones 10/50yrds, D.McFadden 9/27yrds): The Running Backs had another solid game and Taiwan Jones was a standout averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Putting up stats like that can definitely earn you a spot on a NFL squad. McFadden looked good in limited carries. But his talent was never in question its his ability to stay healthy for a whole season…

Wide Receivers: A (J.Criner 2/115yrds, R.Streater5/56yrds, D.Heyward – Bey 2/55yrds): The big name to remember here is Criner this kid put up over 100+ yards on only 2 catches that is insane!! Streater put in another wonderful performance almost assuring him a spot on the roster and even DHB showed up big on the stat sheet with a blistering 25 yards per catch average…

Defense: B+ (Passing Yards: 216yrds, Rushing Yards: 65yrds): The defense held a potent Lions offense to under 300 yards for the game. That kinda performance gives me hope for this season for the Raiders as long as Carson is smart with the offense and dosent turn the ball over much I think that this defense can stop teams well enough to get the Raiders some wins. So ill definintley will be keeping a close eye on this one all season long…

Overall: A
