2012-13 Season Outlook for the Arizona Cardinals…

Welcome back students in today’s classroom we are going to continue our preview of the West Coast NFL team’s this week’s team is the 8-8 Arizona Cardinals. Who finished 2nd in NFC West behind the 49ers last season. But the Cardinals made some upgrades and return their often injured RB Beanie Wells to the starting lineup. So that’s what we are going to focus on today and that is the offense…

Quarterback:(Projected 2012-13 Starter: QB J.Skelton):  At this position the Cardinals made and interesting choice for starter being that Kevin Kolb seemed to be the guy when they got him from Philly. Unfortunately pretty much every Preseason since he has gotten there he has been out performed by John Skelton. Now this puts Mr Wisenhunt and the Cardinals in a predicament. Do you sit the man who is making so much money for the rookie who is out playing him. We will see what happens as the season inches closer…

Runningback:(Projected 2012-13 Starter: RB B.Wells,FB A.Sherman): This is where the Cardinals will be getting stronger with a returning Beanie Wells. They lost him late last season due to a injury and are happy to have him in a backfield that is young and only getting stronger. Stephens Howling adds a speed element to their backfield that says if you want to were them out your gonna have to bring a lot of defensive players. Because they are gonna run thru ya…

Wide Receiver:(Projected 2012-13 Starters: WR L.Fitzgerald, WR A.Roberts, TE T.Heap): This Receiving core was strong already and they only got deeper by adding the Norte Dame standout wideout Malcolm Floyd. Who will work his way into the starting lineup but for now the standout from last year Andre Roberts will take the reigns and attempt to be the man when defense’s double team Larry Fitzgerald. That comes up big and gets the job done…

Offensive Line:(Projected 2012-13 Starters: LT D.Young, LG D.Colledge, C L. Sendlein, RG A.Snyder, RT J.Bridges): This is an area where the Cardinals have to get better. Anytime you allow 54 sacks in a season can never be good for the health of your quarterbacks. But I think in their second year together for the most part (A.Snyder was added at RG this offseason from the 49ers) they should learn to be a more cohesive unit and protect the quarterback…

The Cardinals have a solid offense and if they can put it all together with that solid defense. They can look to challenge not only for a playoff spot but for the NFC West title. But that has yet to be seen the scary thing is this team is still very young and will only get better. So keep and eye out for the Arizona Cardinals in the years to come. Till next time students… Class is dismissed
