The Tiger Woods I know vs The Tiger Woods I used to vs. The
Tiger Woods I will see…
Today
Class we learn about something very important today we learn about the ability
to “Bounce Back!” and with that I mean the ability to take a pounding and
comeback strong. The greatest non
fiction sports related bounce back I can think of! I am not going to sit here
and say that there hasn’t been some great bounce backs from the brink of
disaster in my lifetime. There was the
Red Sox over the “Evil Empire” Yankees coming back from 3 down to take the
series in ’04. There was the US Woman’s Soccer Team that against all odds took the world by storm
and showed us women can dominate too. But with Tiger it seemed to be different and I
mean it in this way…
Tiger
had his golf game slowly disappear as his life was falling apart and although
all of this was his own doing the difference is none of us has to do it in
front of the entire world. Over the past several years there have been pundits
who range in all directions. The ones we are going to focus on today are the
naysayers and the ones that completely wrote Tiger off and said that he was
never soing to get back to his old form. I actually agree with that last part
he will never get back to the “old Tiger” that Tiger was stupid and young. This
Tiger is a lot more mature and knows how to keep his private life private.,
Which is the one thing all celeb’s should know. But back to my original point
that Tiger has managed to battle back from report after report and injury after
injury…
This
is where he separates himself Tiger instead of bowing down to all of the
pressure and Sneers and Jibes that everyone was taking at him. Tiger stood
before those people and said “yup I made a mistake” and a big mistake it was
enough that it kept him on Americas bad side for years. He handled himself with
style and grace and stayed steady through all the accusations from former
caddies to some people saying his career should be over. But guess what Tiger saw a chance to redeem
himself on the golf course by going back to square one and refining his game.
Getting a new swing coach and slowly building himself back to his top form. Notice
I didn’t say old form just his top form. Now Tiger has already won 3
tournaments this year and I bet the seat of my pants he wins at least one
major. He once stood on the brink of shattering the Major’s record now he will
be lucky to catch it the rest of the field has gotten better and we seem to
always see a 1st time winner taking those tournaments home. So he definitely
has a lot more competition than in previous years.just like in years past he
will find a way. Besides he is a Tiger in a jungle full of cats….
